St Vincent and the Grenadines is well know by us as we sailed this area from 2011 till 2019. It will be the start point of our Round-the-World adventure. We will do some sail training in this area before heading to Martinique. There are two main reasons for heading to Martinique. One is better shops for a big provisioning shop and secondly because it will hopefully give a better angle on downwind sailing. Maybe a good time to get the asymmetric out.
The longest non-stop sailed distance in this leg is 450nm. This will take around 3.5 days. So night shifts will be done. Due to the typical wind direction this should be a downwind sail. We will try and leave from a port that will give us a wind direction of no more than 140 degrees to the wind, and 120 degrees, if possible.
We will spend a number of days on Bonaire and Curacoa and then finish in Aruba. Aruba is where the next leg will start.
